Virtual Dimensions Training Session

The UCI Brain Initiative is pleased to offer training sessions on the Dimensions Team Science Development Tool.
These virtual training sessions are designed to help users better understand the interface, the capabilities, and opportunities in Dimensions. Participants are encouraged to apply for Dimensions access prior to attending the training session.

Participants may attend one or more sessions. 

Understanding the Research Landscape | 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

An overview of and orientation to the Dimensions platform. Dimensions, a UCI Brain resource, is an interlinked global database containing over: 100 million publications, 1.5 million datasets, 5 million awarded grants, 38 million patent records, 500,000 clinical trials and 400,000 policy documents. This session will cover the contents of the database, a basic orientation to navigation and features, and some common queries.

Creating Collaborative Projects with Dimensions  | 10:15 – 11:15 a.m.

Find out who the established and emerging leaders are in your field of interest. We’ll be showing you how to use Dimensions to identify promising people, funders and organizations that can help advance your career.

Open Panel Discussion and UCI Brain Pilot Grant Award Announcement | 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Bring your questions to a panel of experts. This session is designed to explore specific use cases for dimensions.

UCI Brain has partnered with Dimensions for UCI Brain’s faculty teams to have premium access to a comprehensive data platform with features including the ability to cross-reference research publications, awarded grants, patents, clinical trials, and policy documents.
