Understanding the brain will transform every facet of our lives from eradicating brain disease, to developing next-generation technology, to achieving a profound understanding of human nature. UCI Brain is a signature program of the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory and is intended to be a hub for all neuroscience on campus.

Christine Gall, PhD, Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology, has been appointed as the Daniel G. Aldrich, Jr. Endowed Chair, effective July 1, 2024. The Aldrich Chair was established in 1984 to honor the contributions made to the campus by its founding chancellor. The chair recognizes an outstanding scholar and teacher of the highest distinction whose research has been widely and internationally acclaimed.
